Speed is of the essence I muse as I look at the folder containing material for this album of mine with serial dates starting in 2016-2021 each crossed out on the cover. It is going to end up a bit like Mr J Cash and his ‘One Piece at a Time’ Cadillac. Well as I always say at this point things are going along and I am learning a lot. One of those things is that I have a massive amount of material that is waiting to be recorded after this ‘difficult’ first album. I think the next outing will be very much get it down (and dirty).

Here’s me thinking I am like Ben Bradlee with his red pencil in ‘All the President’s Men’ as I listen to mixes. I think on reflection that the shoes up on the table act when you do a crit only works if you are wearing patent leather loafers and a suit, not moccasins…and own one of the major newspapers in America.

I had hoped to get this done by the end of year 2022 but life gets in the way and a job put off for one day gets then put off for another…well why not, and now I need to do my taxes…oh well! People are suddenly unavailable and the ‘schedule’ gets busted again. Schedule…that’s a laugh! Intellectually I know that this is not how to get the job done but it has been a lot of fun. And why shouldn’t our artistic endeavors be fun? We call it playing after all!

This is part of a mix and video in progress…nearly there. This bit is only 1min 38sec so almost ticktocky. Just need to nail down some backing singers long enough to record them (any volunteers out there?). The video is assembled by Danny Wood from footage (is it still called that?) I shot in the states. The full video and music is about 5 mins and is a scrambled roadtrip around Ohio, Ilinois and Mighigan. It finishes at the best beach in the world but I won’t tell you where that is, you’ll just have to keep looking! Enjoy!
